How To Protect Data And Reputations
Who should attend?
Data controllers, HR and business leaders who want to ensure that they are up to date with the recently updated privacy and data protection laws. Anyone who has employees with a facebook page or even just internet access, will also be stunned by some of the information presented here.
Why should you attend?
When this session first ran in 2009, nearly 200 managers attended and it received national press coverage, as no one else was advising on how to tackle some very real issues regarding monitoring employees, particularly on their social networks. Issues that we will discuss include;
My staff seem to spend all day on twitter or facebook, but I can never catch them, what can I do?
A member of staff was reported for viewing porn on his laptop, but I can’t see any record of it, what should I do?
One of my staff wrote nasty comments about our company on their facebook page. Can I fire them?
One of my employees has explicit photos on their facebook page, can I tell them to take those photos off?
I want to screen all job candidates by checking their social network pages is that OK?
I think one of my employees is a cyber bully, what should I do?
A member of staff keeps asking for details of any records on them, plus any email sent by their boss that refers to them, do we need to keep providing it?
- We don’t have a data controller, do we have to have one?
- I am the data controller, and I’m sure we are in breach of data laws, am I personally at risk?
